Umeme Emerges As Top Loser of The Day As Safaricom Rules The Top Movers’ Table

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Umeme was the top loser of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) with 8.81 percent at the price of 7.25 shillings per share followed by Standard Chartered Bank with a loss of 3.52 percent at the price of 192.00 shillings per share.

Nairobi Business Ventures, Kenya Airways, and KenolKobil lost 3.45, 3.35 and 2.50 percent at the price of 1.40, 10.10 and 19.50 shillings per share respectively.

The top movers’ table was dominated by Safaricom Plc who sold 12.01 million shares followed by Kenya Power and Lighting Company who sold 1.19 million shares.

Kenya Electricity Generating Company, Equity Group, and Kenya Commercial Bank sold 677,300, 666,300 and 506,700 shares respectively.

Home Afrika was the top gainer of the day with 7.14 percent at the price of 0.75 shillings per share followed by Unga Group with 6.76 percent at the price of 39.50 shillings per share.

Eveready East Africa, Longhorn Kenya, and Nairobi Securities Exchange gained 4.35, 2.94 and 2.85 percent at the price of 1.20, 5.25 and 14.45 shillings per share respectively
