In 2017, it was reported that Kenya was one of the top luxury real estate destinations in Africa. A quick stroll around Karen will tell you why. Most of the houses you come across are simply beautiful. Even the air seems different; richer, somehow. It makes sense that it was one of the first places white settlers gunned for. While the colonial-era homes are impressive, the new developments in the area stand out. Having recently finished and handed over a 10-unit development, real estate giants, Cytonn, announced a new development in the area dubbed Applewood.

If you thought Amara Ridge was something, wait till you get a look at the plans for Applewood. The project, which was launched mid-January this year, will have 18 luxurious 5-bedroomed villas spread over a 10.4 acre piece of land in Miotoni, Karen. This means owners would have enough space to just breathe and enjoy their homes. Of course, there are also expansive gardens, swimming pools, a clubhouse, and a gym because apparently, Cytonn does not cut any corners when it comes to luxurious living. Residents would also benefit from 24-hour security and a backup generator in case of power outages.

Depending on your tastes (and maybe age), you can choose between modern and classical designs, either of which is going to be exquisite, if the renders are anything to go by.

Even though the plans for the exterior are awe-inspiring, the interiors will certainly take your breath away. The finishings are so amazing, it is easy to get lost in the elegance and beauty. Who wouldn’t want to have this as the place they call home?

Applewood brings Cytonn’s tally of projects in Karen to three, the other two being Amara Ridge and Situ Village. It’s easy to see why the developers like this area. International schools like Braeburn, Hillcrest, and Brookhouse are close by. So are world-class hospitals and shopping centers. Moreover, land in Karen has above-average capital appreciation. In the 2000s, the price per acre was 2-3 million shillings. Now, just one acre could be well over 45 million, and this price continues to grow. Any savvy investor will want a piece of that deal.
Having proved themselves by finishing Amara Ridge, it is clear that Cytonn does not compromise on quality. I for one cannot wait to see Applewood when it is finished.
