Richard Sidindi of Impala Rugby Dies in Morning Swim

Impala Saracens RFC fullback Richard Sidindi is dead. Sidindi who is commonly referred to as “Real Jadhah Power” drowned on Monday morning while swimming at the Impala Sports Club swimming pool, Nairobi.

Sidindi played his last match on Saturday against Homeboyz at the Impala Sports club and has been with the club since 2011 after he left Kisumu RFC.

“It appears that there was some swimming pool incident where Sidindi was alone but we are still gathering information on what really happened,” the Impala Saracens Director of Rugby, Fred Ollows,  said while at the Kilimani Police Station where he recorded a statement adding that they would communicate once more information on the tragic incident reached them.

Sidindi has been described as a good swimmer raising concerns on what would have led him to drown. “We are trying to find out what really happened since he was a good swimmer,” said Ndong adding that he had played the second half of the Saturday game for 30 minutes.

Sidindi began his rugby career at St Marys School in Yala after which he joined Maseno University and studied Information Technology. Sidindi has also played for the Kenya Shujaa at Safari Sevens. The Rugby player leaves behind a wife and daughter.
