Umeme Emerges As Top Gainer of the Day as Eveready Tails

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

The top gainer of the day was Umeme who gained 9.83 percent at the price of 7.82 shillings per share followed by Kapchorua Tea Kenya with 9.59 percent at the price of 80.00 shillings per share.

CIC Insurance Group, NIC Bank and British American Tobacco gained 8.14, 7.52 and 6.67 percent at the price of 4.78, 38.60 and 640.00 shillings per share respectively.

Eveready East Africa ruled the top losers’ table with 6.25 percent at the price of 1.20 shillings per share followed by Olympia Capital with a loss of 5.36 percent at the price of 2.65 shillings per share.

Standard Group, Carbacid Investments, and Centum Investments Company lost 5.10, 4.00 and 3.92 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom continued as the top mover for the third day running this week having sold 19.64 million shares followed by Kenya Commercial Bank with 2.73 million shares.

British American Tobacco and KenolKobil sold 2.61 and 2.54 million shares respectively while Equity Group sold 935,500 shares.
