Beans prices have been on the rise since the month of December and households have been forced to pay more to be able to afford the cereal and prices are expected to remain high due to the ongoing dry spell that has hit most parts of the country.
A kilogram of Canadian beans is being sold at 89 shillings in Kisumu, which is the highest price as compared to other towns like Nairobi and Nakuru where it is going at 70 shillings and 61 shillings respectively.

Traders who buy Canadian beans at wholesale prices are getting a 90-kilogram bag at 8,000 shillings in Kisumu, 6,300 shillings in Nairobi and 5,500 shillings in Nakuru.
In Mombasa, the price of a 90-kilogram bag of Mwitemania beans is retailing at 8,550 shillings in Eldoret, 8,000 shillings in Kisumu, 5,850 shillings and 4,500 shillings in Nakuru and Mombasa respectively.
The price of a 90-kilogram bag of Rosecoco beans is being sold at 8.550 shillings in Eldoret, 8,000 shillings in Kisumu, 6,300 shillings in Nairobi, 5,700 shillings in Mombasa and 5,500 shillings in Nakuru.
