Two people have lost their lives in a road accident involving a truck, car and a motorbike along the Nyamira-Kisii road on 15th April.
Five other casualties have since been rushed to Tenwek hospital by well-wishers. The Monday morning accident occurred near Sironga Girls School at around 9 am.
The County Traffic Commander Osman reported that the accident occurred when the driver of the saloon car while driving towards Nyamira town from Ting’a, lost control and collided with the oncoming truck.
“The motorcycle rider, who was behind the saloon car, hence also lost control and hit the car from behind,” Mr.Osman informed.
The driver of the saloon car and the motorcycle rider died on the spot while the rest are currently receiving treatment.
The two bodies have since been transferred to the same hospital’s morgue.
The driver of the saloon car has been identified as Enoch Omwenga, an employee of the Nyamira County Assembly in the Human Resource department.
