Avenue Healthcare has struck a deal with CARE Hospital Groups India to enable Kenyan patients to have immediate access to highly trained ICU and Emergency room management teams, as well as speciality clinics for Oncology and Renal care.
CARE Hospital Groups is a multi-speciality healthcare provider that is committed to providing care that people can trust. It is known for providing comprehensive care in over 30 specialities and famed for consultants in liver, heart, renal transplants, bariatric and laparoscopy and oncology.
CARE Hospital Groups CEO Dr Raajiv Sighal during a press briefing said, “the partnership is about upscaling the staff and widening the scale of tertiary care. Our role is to equip Avenue Healthcare doctors to offer world-class health care and ensuring that the services are available locally by local medics.”
Avenue Healthcare CEO Dr Denis Ogolla pointed out that the partnership will be of immense value as it will allow Kenyans to access certain services locally, reducing the need to travel out of the country for treatment.
“Avenue Hospital is known for providing high-quality emergency care and partnership with Care Hospitals will raise the bar in provision of emergency and critical care as well as the other tertiary care services planned for the next six to eight months,” he added.
Avenue Healthcare and Care Hospital Groups are both members of the Evercare Group that was formed through a US$ 1 billion impact fund, whose mandate is to provide patients in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia access to affordable, high-quality private health care.
“Our solution is to build integrated clinical corridors and healthcare for millions of lives,” said Evercare CEO Andrew Currie. He also mentioned Metropolitan Hospital, Nairobi Women’s Hospital, and Ladnan Hospital as three other investments they have in Kenya, alongside hospital groups in Nigeria and Pakistan.
Training of ICU and operating theatre clinical teams of Avenue Hospitals is ongoing in India. Also, specialists from Care are in Kenya training an additional 80 doctors and nurses in critical and emergency care.
