4 Roads Closed Within Nairobi For Diabetes Walk

Motorists are advised to avoid four roads in the Central Business District, by Police on Saturday, as they will be closed down, from as early as 6am to 12 midday, to pave way for the annual Diabetes Walk.

Joshua Omukata, Nairobi County Traffic Commander, informed motorists through a statement to the media houses that the following roads would be closed:

The roads will closed from 6am to 12pm.

The traffic Commander has since advised motorists to use the following alternative routes.

Those that use Langata Road have been advised to use Southern Bypass in a bid to join Mombasa Road.

Motorists will be directed to Jogoo and Landhies road from Mombasa Road.

Landhies road will also be the route used by all motorists approaching the Central Business District (CBD) using Mombasa Road.

Uhuru Highway will be used as a single carriage way from Uhuru Highway/Haile Selassie Avenue roundabout to Uhuru Highway/Bunyala roundabout.

Motorists approaching CBD from Ngong direction have been advised to divert at Ngong road/Haile Selassie junction to access the CBD through Valley Road and Kenyatta Avenue.

Vehicles headed to Bunyala Road through Hospital road will be diverted at Hospital Road/Ngong Road junction to join Valley Road and Kenyatta Avenue to approach the CBD.

The commander also said thatTraffic Police officers would be deployed at strategic points to facilitate traffic accordingly.
