Safaricom to Close All its Shops in Kenya in Honor of Bob Collymore

Safaricom PLC has announced today, 3rd July 2019, that all its shops in Kenya will be closed down for four hours on Thursday, 4th July 2019, in honor of its departed Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Bob Collymore.

The largest telecommunication company in Kenya has announced that it will honor the celebrated CEO by closing its shops countrywide from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm through an obituary document sent to all its shops.

It is during the time when the Safaricom shops will have closed that a memorial service will be held at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi to celebrate Bob’s life.

According to the notice, the All Saints Cathedral will open up to guests at 9:00 am with all the guests requested to be seated by 10:30 am.

The notice also warns that there shall be no parking at the Cathedral but limited service will be availed at Uhuru Park.

The memorial service shall be live streamed on local television stations to give Kenyans an opportunity to mourn the icon.

Bob Collymore died on 1st July and was cremated on 2nd July. Bob succumbed to Acute Myeloid Leukemia which he was diagnosed within the year 2017.

Bob Collymore is survived by his wife, Wambui Kamiru and four children.
