Kenya Re-Insurance Ends the Day on a Gloomy Note as Top Loser

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

The top loser of the day was Kenya Re-Insurance with 9.78 percent at the price of 3.32 shillings per share followed by BOC Kenya who lost 9.72 percent at the price of 65.00 shillings per share.

Car and General (K), CIC Insurance Group and Uchumi Supermarket lost 6.75, 5.63 and 5.56 percent at the price of 21.40, 3.02 and 0.34 shillings per share respectively.

The top five gainers of the day were Britam Holdings, Mumias Sugar Company, East African Cables, Flame Tree Group and Eveready East Africa.

Britam Holdings gained 6.85 percent at the price of 7.80 shillings per share followed by Mumias Sugar Company and East African Cables with 6.25 and 5.98 percent at the price of 0.34 and2.48 shillings per share respectively.

Flame Tree Group and Eveready East Africa gained 5.56 and 4.90 percent at the price of 2.85 and 1.07 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom has remained as the top mover of the day for the third day running and the only stock with a volume above a million. On Wednesday, the telecommunications company moved 6.14 million shares.

Kenya Power and Lighting and KCB Group moved 788,900 and 425,900 shares while Kenya-Reinsurance and Equity Group sold 346,400 and 206,700 shares respectively.
