The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay have issued a statement warning their citizens against visiting the United States.
The travel advisory by Uruguay comes after the two mass shootings that were recently experienced in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, leaving more than 30 people dead.
Uruguay Foreign Affairs ministry mentioned Baltimore, Albuquerque, and Detroit, as places of travel their citizens should avoid.
The ministry informed its citizens that the three cities they were advising them to avoid visiting, were found by CEOWORLD MAGAZINE to be among the 20 most dangerous cities in the world.
Mass shootings, and especially gun violence is so rampant in the United States more than any other country, as about 39,000 men, women and children being killed every year in the USA.
Baltimore is especially on the spot after 200 cases of homicide were reported to have passed in just one weekend and has been on the receiving end of US President Donald Trump’s criticism, who even termed the city as ‘a filthy rat and rodent-infested’ one.
“The homicide rate in Baltimore is significantly higher than El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala. I believe it’s higher than, give me a place that you think is pretty bad, give me a place,” said President Trump in a rally.
The recent attacks, according to Amnesty International could be linked to the White Supremacy ideology, hence, a traveler’s race, country of origin, ethnic background, sexual orientation or gender identity may place them at higher risk.
Basing on this supremacy ideology, the government of Uruguay has advised its citizens to stay away from US shopping centers, art festivals, sporting and religious events, and theme parks.
Foreign Affairs Ministry of Venezuela also issued a notice to its citizens telling them to postpone their visits to the US citing hate crimes.
Uruguay becomes among the few countries that have ever attempted to issue travel advisory against the United States.
