Co-operative Bank of Kenya Shines To Edge Out Safaricom As Top Mover Of The Day

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Co-operative Bank of Kenya edged out Safaricom to emerge as the top mover of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Tuesday. The lender posted a volume of 3.78 million shares with a market capitalization of 64.54 billion.

Safaricom, which was the top mover on Monday came in second with a volume of 3.28 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.08 trillion followed by the East African Breweries who sold 1.22 million shares.

Equity Group and CIC Insurance Group moved 746,000 and 328,500 shares with a market capitalization of 141.70 and 7.79 billion respectively.

The East African Cables was the top gainer of the day with 9.89 percent at the price of 3.00 shillings per share followed by Uchumi Supermarket with a gain of 6.90 percent at the price of 0.31 shillings per share.

HF Group and Eveready East Africa gained 5.56 and 3.96 percent at the price of 4.75 and 1.05 shillings per share while Mumias Sugar Company gained 3.57 percent at the price of 45.00 shillings per share.

The top loser of the day was Eaagads with 9.52 percent at the price of 11.40 shillings per share followed by Longhorn Kenya with a loss of 9.45 percent at the price of 5.56 shillings per share.

CIC Insurance Group, Flame Tree Group, and I&M Holdings lost 7.45, 6.50 and 3.23 percent at the price of 2.98, 2.30 and 45.00 shillings per share respectively.
