Everybody wants to succeed but few are willing to take the road less taken in order to dare to succeed. Success is like a journey, a long winding road that has so many destinations that look like real ones.
To succeed, there are things you MUST avoid. Here are some of them:
Toxic People
You should always be intolerant to toxic people. There are people who will never want you to move up. They will always want you to remain where they are or lower than they are. Remember, toxic people are not usually strangers. They are those closest to you.
Procrastination
Procrastination always seems sweet, enjoyable and comfortable when all it does is robbing you of your time for success. You must always have a plan on whatever you purpose to do and strictly adhere to the plan.
Desire To Please All
You will never please everybody. The easiest way to failure is to try to please everybody. If everyone always agrees with you, watch out because you might be on the highway to failure.
Seeking Counsel From Wrong People
Not everyone has a right to speak in your life. Never ask direction from people who are going nowhere. Remember, those who have failed themselves will always be the first to tell you how.
Excuses
Know when it is your fault and never give an excuse for failure. Excuses are short-lived comfort zones for cowards who always think they must have something to hold to avoid taking responsibility.
Blaming Others For Your Failure
If you always blame others for your failure then you are, indeed, a failure. Remember, you are never a failure until you start blaming others for it.
Being Always Right
If you are always right, you will never learn. There is power in listening. There is power in paying attention to small things in life.
Pride
Pride comes before a fall. Treat people how you would want them to treat you. Mostly, people treat you the same way you treat them. Treat them well and the majority of them will replicate.
Owning The Credit
Are you the “I” person or the “We” person. Do you say “I did it” when a team is involved or you say “We did it”? Be the “We” person if you want to succeed.
Worrying
Worrying has never solved anything. All it does is steal your joy and keep you busy doing nothing.
