Embattled Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko can at long last breathe some fresh air of the littered Nairobi after being released on a cash bail of 15 million shillings, a 30 million shilling bond and a surety of a similar amount.
The City boss has been in police custody since Friday when he was dramatically arrested in Voi to answer to charges of corruption.
In another big blow to the flamboyant governor, the court has barred him from accessing his office, putting him in the same bracket as his counterpart in Kiambu County, Ferdinand Waititu Baba Yao.
Mike Sonko has also been warned against interfering with witnesses or making comments about the case through his social media handles.
