No one gets out of this life alive could be almost every Kenyan’s mantra, seeing that the most ordered delicacies online are the very foods they are urged to walk away from as they are known to be associated with lifestyle diseases.
A report on food analysis which was released by Jumia Food Kenya on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019, indicated that in the last three years, Kenyans ordered Chicken, Pizza and Burgers kore than any other foods.
It is not uncommon to find Kenyans rushing home with packages of pizza or having it being delivered at home and in offices, especially on Tuesdays, commonly known as terrific Tuesday.
Jumia Food analysis shows that pizza orders came second to that of fried chicken considering its affordable price.
Most chicken inns have reduced the price of this delicacy to attract more customers, making chicken the most popular order in Kenya.

The Managing Director of Jumia East Africa Shreenal Ruparelia also observed that the availability of many fast-food eateries that offer the food (chicken) at affordable prices is probably the reason for its high demand.
Burgers, were the third most ordered fast foods, rising from the fifth position in 2017, with Jumia linking it to the fact that more middle-class consumers prefer the convenience of having food delivered to them rather than wasting time and effort to cook.
But as more urban dwellers are eating more fast foods than ever, the latest statistics from United Nations (UN) health agency World Health Organization (WHO) shows that about a quarter (23 percent) of Kenyan women aged 15 years and above and seven percent men in the same group are either overweight or obese.
According to the agency, more Kenyans, are now suffering from heart diseases, diabetes, cancers, bone issues, and psychological disorders as a result of consuming fast foods and being overweight. About 2.8 million Kenyans die from these conditions.
