A morning accident along the Thika road superhighway today, 17th February 2020, has left a heavy traffic snarl-up and a number of casualties that is yet to be established.
The morning Thika road accident occurred the Superhighway around Muthaiga and involved a personal car, an MSL operating Passenger vehicle, another matatu said to be ferrying the Babadogo route and other private vehicles.
The MSL PSV matatu was lying on its side after the accident and had been badly hit with fears of death rife.
The heavy traffic hindered the rescue mission as ambulances had a difficult time accessing the scene of the accident as the road was tightly occupied by vehicles reducing survival chances for those involved in the Muthaiga morning accident.
In October 2019 an accident involving five vehicles occurred at the same spot near the Muthaiga Police Station along Thika road and involved five vehicles, several injuries were reported.
The 2019 Muthaiga accident was said to have been caused by a speeding bus that collided with 5 other cars and a few months later a more severe accident has been experienced leaving the fear of the area around Muthaiga being a black spot.
The number of casualties in the Monday morning Muthaiga accident, if at all there are any, is yet to be established.
