Fear In Kitui As Chinese Man Suffers CoronaVirus-Like Symptoms

It has been confirmed that indeed there is a suspected case of coronavirus in Kitui county after a Chinese man that jetted into Kenya from China over the weekend has started showing symptoms of the virus.

Health authorities in Kitui County are now on high alert have seniors in the construction company instructed workers at the road construction camp in Mutomo to keep off the visibly sick Chinese man.

The sick Chinese man works for Sino Hydro Corporation, a firm that is constructing the Kitui-Kibwezi road was placed under quarantine and has since been receiving food through the window on instructions of his seniors.

A Kenyan citizen who is working at the Sino Hydro Corporation as a cook was instructed to observe the sick Chinese man and avoid any contact with him.

The Chinese man suspected to have contracted the deadly Coronavirus is said to have jetted into Kenya over the weekend, boarded a taxi from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ( JKIA) to Mutomo.

It is reported that drivers at the Sino Hydro Corporation drivers refused to drive to Nairobi’s JKIA to pick him over health fears given he was coming from a vacation from China’s worst-hit state by Coronavirus, Wuhan.

The drivers were reluctant to receive foreigners, most of whom had been on vacation in Wuhan, China’s region hardest hit by the coronavirus.
