Former President Daniel Moi is dead. His death was announced on Tuesday morning by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Daniel Moi has been in and out of the Nairobi Hospital for the better part of 2019 and he has been on life support for almost a month.
He has died at the age of 95 and will be remembered as having ruled Kenya with an iron fist for 24 years before being removed by President Mwai Kibaki in 2002.
The death of Moi now marks the end of an era where he had predicted that his party KANU would rule Kenya for a hundred years.
