Life And Last Moments Of President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi

Surrounded by his family including the Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, at around 5:20 am in the morning at the Nairobi Hospital, Kenya’s second President Daniel Moi breathed his last.

After two years of being in and out of Nairobi Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), curtains closed on Daniel Moi at the age of 96 years.

President Moi joined politics from a career as a teacher in the year 1955 and was fondly referred to as Nyayo with a famous philosophy of peace, love and unity.

Born in the year 1924, President Moi became Kenya’s third Vice President between the year 1967 to 1978.

Former President Daniel Moi took over power as President following the death of Kenya’s First President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

Daniel Moi was to become Kenya’s president for over two decades between the years 1978 to 2002.

Daniel Moi handed over power to Mwai Kibaki in 2002.

From his generosity in providing schools with the Maziwa ya Nyayo to cash handouts, Kenyans definitely have so much to remember President Moi by, May His Soul Rest in Peace.
