Today, 27th February 2020, the nation is watching and waiting anxiously as the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) holds its elections for various positions, and most importantly, the presidential seat.
The LSK elections are currently underway in a total of 36 polling stations across the country, a process being conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
According to the IEBC, the elections will be held in different law courts where county election managers will preside over the exercise with assistance from trained polling officials from IEBC.
Polling stations were opened at 8:30 am and are expected to close at 5 pm. However, the commission notes that voters who will be in the queue at 5 pm shall be allowed to vote.
The presidential seat, contested by Maria Mbeneka, Nelson Havi, Charles Kanjama and Harriette Chiggai will be the talk of the nation, once the IEBC announces the results.
