On Friday, Italy shocked the world when it registered 627 deaths within 24 hours, a rate of 26 deaths per hour from the deadly Coronavirus.
The number of confirmed deaths in Italy on Saturday morning was 4032 and experts warned of more deaths during the day.
On Saturday, the number of deaths surged to 793 in less than 24 hours taking the total number of deaths to 4,825 with infections moving past 50,000.
According to authorities in Italy, the hospitals are full and overwhelmed with people suffering from the deadly Coronavirus. The morgues are also full with the military helping in disposing off some bodies to create room for others.
Globally, the number of deaths as a result of Coronavirus virus is at 13,069 with that of infections standing at 308,594. The world is now shifting focus to Italy as the virus threatens to wipe out thousands of not contained.
In Africa, countries have started initiating lockdowns as the number of confirmed cases move past 1,000. South Africa is leading with at least 240 cases.
