The Central Bank of Kenya has announced that all cash received by commercial banks will be quarantined for seven days in an effort to fight the deadly Coronavirus.
Speaking while briefing President Uhuru Kenyatta on the measures put together by the banking sector, Central Bank Governor Dr. Patrick Njoroge says banknotes will be quarantined to stop the spread of the virus.
The World Health Organisation, called on the world to try as much as possible to avoid the use of banknotes because they are likely to hold the virus for days leading to its spread.
