Juventus Forward Paulo Dybala Tests Positive for the Coronavirus

Argentinian and Juventus Forward, Paulo Dybala has tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to Juventus officials, Paulo Dybala was tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday 21, March 2020 but has not shown any sign of the infection yet.

“The player, involuntary home isolation since March 11, will continue to be monitored. He is well and asymptomatic,” Juventus announced on Saturday.

Paulo Dybala, 26, now becomes the third Juventus player to be confirmed positive for the Covid-19 after fellow teammates Blaise Matuidi and Daniel Rugani.

In his Instagram post, Paulo Dybala confirmed that his fiancé had also contracted the coronavirus but assured that they are both in a stable condition.“Luckily, we are in perfect condition,” he said.

In Milan, Italy former AC Milan defender Paolo Maldini and his son Daniel both tested positive for the coronavirus on Saturday, March 21, 2020.

“Paolo Maldini learned that he had contact with a person who tested positive and was suffering from symptoms of the virus. He was tested yesterday and found positive for the coronavirus,” AC Milan confirmed stating that the two are in a stable condition.

The two clubs, Juventus and AC Milan are in Italy, Europe where medics say is the current epicenter of the coronavirus. This shifted from China.

Italy is the worst-hit nation in Europe and the second most affected nation, but the number of deaths reported in the country are heartbreaking.

As of 21st March 2020, 53,578 cases had been confirmed in Italy with 4,825 deaths which are 1600 more deaths than mainland China.

Globally, the total confirmed cases have surpassed 300,000 with over 14,000 deaths.

Out of the 300,000 plus reported cases, 225,446 are currently infected where 214,893 are in mild conditions while 10,553 are in critical conditions.99,014 have recovered from the virus.
