The Standard Chartered Bank has announced that it will close some of its branches to avoid exposing its staff members and customers to the risk of contracting Covid-19.
Stan Chart said that the temporary closure will be effected from May 1, 2020, where eight branches within Nairobi will be affected.
“As we continue to play our part in minimizing the spread of Covid-19, we are continuously reviewing measures that our staff and you safe,” read a statement by the Bank.
In this regard, we would like to advise you that we shall temporarily close eight branches for a period of eight months effective from 01 May 2020,” Standard Chartered added.
The eight Stan Chart branches that will be closed are; Koinange Branch, Harambee avenue branch, Ruaraka/Garden City Mall branch, T-Mall branch, Two-Rivers Mall branch, Upper hill branch, JKIA, and Maritime branch.
However, the lender assured its customers that services will not be interrupted due to the closure of the eight branches and they should take advantage of the digital platform.
Standard Chartered advised that those near the affected branches should seek services from other branches within their proximity.
“The staff from these branches will be deployed to other branches and business units. Please be assured that there will be no interruption to your banking as we have branches within proximity as well as our robust online and mobile banking platforms allowing 24/7 banking, anytime anywhere.”
Customers near the closed Koinange Branch and the Harambee avenue can go to Kenyatta Avenue Branch or the one on Moi Avenue, while those near Ruaraka/Garden City mall can visit Thika Road Mall/Muthaiga branches.
Customers near T-Mall can visit Galleria/Yaya Center, Two-Rivers Customers can go to Muthaiga Branch, Upper hill-Yaya center, JKIA-Industrial area, or Sameer Park and Maritime customers can visit the Treasury square branch.
