Kenya has registered fifteen positive COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours as announced by CAS Rashid Aman and sadly has lost three more people to the deadly virus.
The 15 new COVID-19 cases are among 978 samples tested in the last 24 hours with fourteen of them being Kenyans and one being a Rwandese.
The ages of the newly confirmed COVID-19 cases according to CAS Rashid Aman are one year eight months for the youngest and 62 years for the eldest.
The Health CAS Rashid Aman has however sadly noted that Kenya has lost three more lives to COVID-19 raising the number of those that have died of the virus to thirty-six (36) since the first day the virus was reported.
Sadly, two of those that have died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, died in their homes while one died in hospital, all in Mombasa county.
The fifteen that have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours include 10 males and five females while two truck drivers have tested positive for COVID-19 on the Tanzanian border on the Tanzanian soil as the sought to cross over to Kenya.
The fifteen newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are spread out in the country as follows:
Mombasa -7
Migori-3
Wajir -2
Nairobi -1
Machakos -1
Kiambu -1
The seven new COVID-19 cases in Mombasa are five from Mvita, one in Jomvu and one in Kisauni constituency while the three in Migori county are one from Kuria East, one from Tebesi and one from Nyamaranya.
The two Wajir cases are one from Wajir South and another one from Wajir West while in Nairobi one case has been registered in Githurai 44.
“Today, we celebrate nurses in the World and though we cannot mark the day with celebrations, we celebrate our nurses in words and expressions for it is in their help we have marked over 200 COVID-19 recoveries in Kenya,” CAS Rashid Aman has said thanking nurses for their sacrifice.
“We appreciate the high level of responsibility shown since we announced the cross border transmission of COVID-19 with nine Kenyans and 5 Tanzanians,” CAS Rashid Aman has said.
