There is a power outage covering the whole country in a statement released by Kenya Power and Lighting Company.
According to Kenya, the nationwide power blackout kicked off at 5:49 this morning (Saturday, May 9, 2020) “due to a system disturbance that occurred on our transmission network.”
This is the second time in 4 years Kenya is facing a nationwide power blackout, courtesy of our very own, only power supplier with no competitor, Kenya Power.
In 2016, there was another nationwide power blackout when a monkey climbed onto the roof of Gitaru Power Station and fell on a transformer.
