COVID-19 Cases Rise To 4,044 As 184 Test Positive in 24 Hours

Kenya has today recorded 184 new COVID-19 cases raising the total number to 4,044 cases according to Health CAS Rashid Aman has said.

184 new COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours is the highest number recorded with Health CAS Rashid Aman noting that 183 of those are Kenyans while one is a foreigner.

Vihiga County has today joined the number of Counties reporting COVID-19 cases with Health CAS Rashid Aman saying the total number of Counties that have reported cases are now 40 which means that there are only seven Counties yet to report a case.

“Vihiga is the latest county to record a case, bringing the total counties that have recorded cases to 40,” Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman has said.

“Today, we have recorded the highest number of cases of COVID-19 at 184. The numbers are rising because of community transmission,” Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman has added.

On a more positive note, 27 COVID-19 patients have been discharged bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,35 while sadly two more Kenyans have succumbed to the infection raising the number of fatalities to 107.

The 184 COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours are distributed in the counties as follows:

Nairobi – 111

Mombasa -19

Kajiado -14

Meru -13

Kiambu- 9

Busia -6

Machakos- 3

Nakuru – 4

Kwale – 1

Nakuru – 1

Garissa – 1

Taita Taveta – 1

Vihiga -1

Mombasa 19 cases are from 9 in Mvita, 4 in Changamwe, 2 in Likoni, 2 in Nyali, 1 in Kisauni and 1 in Jomvu while the 14 COVID-19 cases in Kajiado county are 12 in

Kajiado Central, 1 in Kajiado East, 1 in Kajiado North.

The 13 COVID-19 cases in Meru County are 13 in Imenti North while the 9 cases in Kiambu are 3 in Lari, 2 in Juja, 1 in Kabete, 1 in Kikuyu, 1 in Kiambu Town and 1 in Limuru.

Nairobi county has today registered the highest number od COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began at 111 and the cases are Nairobi 111 cases are 33 in Westlands, 19 in Kibra, 18 in Langata, 15 in Embakasi East,  12 in Dagoretti North, 4 in Kamukunji, 2 in Makadara, 2 in Starehe, 2 in Embakasi Central, 1 in Roysambu, 1 in Embakasi West and 1 in Kasarani.
