Four employees who work at State House have tested positive for the virus according to Kanze Dena Mararo, the government Spokesperson has reported on State House Twitter Handle.
“As part of proactive measures being implemented to contain the spread of Covid-19, State House staff are regularly tested for the disease, the tests were conducted on all staff including His Excellency the President and members of his family,” Kanze Dena said.
Kanze Dena added that during last week’s mass Covid-19 testing held on Thursday, 11th June 2020, four persons were found to have contracted the disease and have been transferred to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital.
“The infected officers were admitted at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital in Kiambu County for treatment while their families and close contacts being attended to accordingly,” Kanze Dena has said.
“State House would like to inform Kenyans that His Excellency the President and the First Family are safe and free from Covid-19 and would also like to remind Kenyans that every person is at risk of contracting Covid-19. No one is immune to the disease,” Kanze has said urging Kenyans to be careful.
“Let us all, therefore, endeavor to fully adhere to the Covid-19 containment protocols as set out by the Ministry of Health,” Kanze has said.

Kenya has today recorded 133 additional COVID-19 new cases raising the total number to 3,727 according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
The 133 COVID-19 positive cases, who include the 4 officers from the statehouse, are out of 3,365 samples tested in the last 24 hours raising the number of samples tested since the first case to a total of 180,701.
