COVID-19 Update: Nairobi Leads With 104 As 3 Die In 24 Hours

Kenya has today registered an additional 155 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Kenya to 4,952 according to Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi.

The 155 COVID-19 cases were from 4,171 samples tested in the last 24 hours raising the number of samples tested in the country for COVID-19 to 146,537 for the last 103 days.

All the 155 COVID-19 positive cases are Kenyans with 120 being males 35 females and the youngest being a one-year-old while the eldest is a 77-year-old.

The 155 positive cases are distributed in counties as follows;

Nairobi – 104

Busia – 19

Migori – 10

Mombasa – 16

Uasin Gishu -4

Kiambu – 3

Machakos – 2

Nakuru -2

Kisumu -1

Kajiado -1

The Nairobi cases are distributed in the constituencies with 20 in Kibra, 17 in Dagoretti North, 13 in Starehe, 10 in Westlands, 9 in Mathare, 8 in Langata, 6 in Kasarani, 4 in Embakasi South, Roysambu and Ruaraka while 3 in Kamukunji, 2 in Makadara, Embakasi East and one in Dagoretti South and Embakasi West.

The 16 COVID-19 cases from Mombasa County are spread out with 4 from Jomvu, 3 from Mvita, and one in Nyali, and Changamwe respectively.

The 19 COVID-19 cases in Busia County are 14 in Teso South and 5 in Matayos while the 10 cases in Migori County are 6 in Kuria West, 3 in Kuria East, and one in Nyatike.

Kiambu county, neighboring Nairobi has reported three COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with one case being in Kiambaa, Kiambu Town, and Kikuyu respectively while the two Machakos cases are in Athi River.

Nakuru County has reported two COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours according to health CAS Mercy Mwangangi with both being in Naivasha while in Uasin Gishu 4 cases have been reported with 2 in Ainabkoi, and another 2 in Turbo.

Kisumu County has reported one COVID-19 case in Kisumu Central while Kajiado County has reported one case in Kajiado North according to Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi.

The Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi has directed a warning at evacuation flights said to be brought back Kenyans saying a number of them were failing to follow the set protocol which involved having a COVID-19 FREE certificate before being allowed to board the flight.

CAS Mwangangi has also added that those flying into Kenya must first sign a form agreeing to either allow the government quarantines them or to pay for quarantine in private facilities and if one has an underlying condition to a written letter from a doctor who will observe them during the quarantine.
