389 more Kenyans have tested positive of Covid-19 in 24 hours taking the total number of confirmed cases to 12,062. The total number of samples tested in 24 hours are 3,545.

The new Covid-19 cases have continued to rise as county governments threaten to impose another lockdown to prevent people from traveling across counties.
Today’s announcement was made by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe who is in Murang’a County for a fact-finding mission on how the county is prepared to handle a surge in Covid-19 cases.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health has announced that 20 doctors from Cuba will be landing into the country to help in the fight against Covid-19.
260 of the confirmed cases are men while 129 are women. The number of men testing positive of Covid-19 has continued to rise. The youngest patient is 5-months-old while the oldest is 95-years-old.
5 patients have died, taking the total number of fatalities to 222.
The government has since shut down 20 centers that were collecting samples from Kenyans and according to CS Mutahi Kagwe, the government will now continue focusing on targeted mass testing.
