Alvina Mutheu and Henry Jacktone were reported missing from their KMC Estate on 11th June 2020 and their parents began a long search to hospitals and morgues, 10 days later, their bodies were found in a car boot in a police station.
The car where the two bodies were found had been parked in Machakos Police station since 4th March 2020 when it was involved in a car accident.
The two, Alvina Mutheu and Henry Jacktone, a girl and a boy, were both aged 4 years at their time of disappearing at KMC estate in Machakos, two kilometers from their home.
It is in the same Machakos Police station that the two children were reported missing by their parents and it remains unclear how their bodies ended up in the same police station in a car’s boot.
The car said to be belonging to a Nairobi salesman, was discovered by the man when he went to the station on Tuesday to pick his detained car and was surprised by the foul smell from the boot of his Toyota Belta which he informed the officers.
On opening the car boot the officers noticed a strange package covered in a black paper bag only to open the bag and find the bodies of the two children.
“When the owner came to pick the car, he realized that there was a strange cargo in the boot of the car, which was wrapped in a black paper bag,” said an investigating officer familiar with the matter.
Parents of Alvina Mutheu and Henry Jacktone who had reported the children missing were summoned to the police station and they confirmed that the bodies were those of their two children.
There were no bloodstains in the car boot or on the clothes of the two bodies, of the children who were described as having been best friends who schooled in the same school and shared a desk, were found.
Alvina Mutheu and Jacktone were not found to have any injuries on their bodies but a post mortem is currently underway for the two children who were both the firstborn in their families.
The bodies of the two children according to investigators were decomposing though strangely the foul smell had not been reported despite the parking yard being busy.
How the killer accessed the vehicle inside the police station remains a mystery as critical questions remain open for investigators.
