The Nation Media Group has fired NTV senior news anchor Ken Mijungu, barely a week after announcing retrenchment but Kenyans think it has to do with the Dj Evolve story aired.
In a tweet, Ken Mijungu announced his exit, attributing it to the ongoing layoffs at the media house.
The axe fell @NTVnewsroom and I was on its way. 7 years in those corridors summed up in a two page letter of termination. We live to fight another day. Thanks to God, He remains the greatest, thank you @ntvkenya for the opportunity and thank you for always staying tuned.

Kenyans have speculated on Ken Mijungu’s firing from Ntv as it came barely 48 hours after airing a story that has since seen Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino threatens to sue the media house.
Others who were shown the door include Business Daily Managing Editor Ng’ang’ a Mbugua, Nation Newspaper Division Managing Director Francis Munywoki, partnerships & project manager, and long-serving education editor David Aduda, and Daily Nation News Editor Francis Wanyonyi Wambilianga.
