Kenya has recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours at 688, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 1,2750.
425 of the confirmed case are men while 263 are women. According to the Ministry of Health, of the total cases, 80 percent are men while 20 percent are women.
Three more people have died taking the total number of fatalities to 225. A total of 56 people recovered and discharged from various hospitals.
401 other patients who were on a home-based care have also recovered.
“This disease is here with us. We must invest to fight this pandemic,” said CS for Health Mr. Mutahi Kagwe.
The Ministry of Health has called on Kenyans to continue being vigilant and follow the instructions of the Government. The CS has condemned a section of Kenyans who are breaking the Covid-19 rules.
On Friday night, Senator for Nairobi Mr. Johnson Sakaja was arrested after he was found drinking outside the curfew hours.
“It is a shame that those who are the first to break the law are our leaders who are supposed to lead by example,” said the CS.
Tana River County has become the latest county to register a Covid-19 case, taking the total number of counties to 44.
