The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company have announced an interruption of water supply from Thursday the 9th of July 2020 to Friday the 10th of July 2020 in a number of estates across the County.
Making the announcement, Nairobi Water has said the supply interruption will be as a result of the shutdown of the Ngethu Treatment Plant which will be undergoing repairs
The Ngethu Treatment Plant repairs that will see a section of Nairobians experience dry taps will be at the Mwagu intake along the Chania River which was damaged during heavy rains.

The Shutdown Announced By The Nairobi Water Company will Affect The Following Areas:
- Central Business District (CBD), University of Nairobi Main Campus, Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River.
- Along the Mombasa Road, South B, South C and nearby estates will be affected
- Industrial Area.
- Along Juja Road: Mlango Kubwa, Mathare, Eastleigh Airforce, Huruma, Kariobangi, Pangani and the rest of Eastleigh estates.
- Along Jogoo Road: Maringo, Buruburu, and all estates in Bahati will be affected by the water shutdown.
- Along Outer-ring Road: Baba Dogo, Dandora, Dandora KCC Factory, Umoja, Donholm, Fedha, Tassia, Avenue Park and Nyayo Embakasi will also be affected by the water interruption.
- Along Kangundo road: Ruai, Kayole, Komarock Estate, and Njiru will experience water interruption.
- Along Thika Road: Kenya Breweries, Kenyatta University, Kahawa Barrack, Kasarani, Mwiki, Kahawa Sukari, Garden Estate and Thome Estate will also experience an interruption of water supply.
- Along Limuru Road: Parklands, Ngara area, Agha Khan hospital, University of Nairobi-School of Law, City Park, Gigiri, United Nation-Gigiri, and Muthaiga will also experience an interruption in their water supply.
Residents in the areas where the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced supply interruption are urged to use the commodity sparingly and ensure storage before the interruption.
