The call for justice on the attempted murder on DJ Evolve by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has begun to take shape as Dj Evolve – Sign the petition takes to speed; justice is likely to be pushed to prevail.
The call for justice on the shooting Babu Owino that left the once health Dj Evolve paralyzed from the mid-torsal downwards and depending on pipes to help him breathe was re-energized by a video aired on Monday on Ntv Kenya.
The fury from Kenyans rants online platforms attracting communication from Kenyans who had begun calling for mass protests for the case to be expedited as they argued justice had been delayed for months on.
Commenting on the case on Dj Evolve the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution said the prosecution of the case had been slowed down by his inability to record a statement following the shooting which affected his speech.
“Prosecution of Embakasi MP Paul Ongili Babu Owino over attempted Murder of Dj Evolve has been slowed down by the inability of the victim to record a statement following the shooting which affected his speech,” the office of the ODPP wrote in Twitter.
“According to the IO report, the victim is paralyzed and has a speech impediment making it very challenging to record his statement,” the ODPP writes on twitter adding that Babu Owino was arraigned in court on 20/1/2020.
The ODPP says Babu Owino was charged with attempted murder and behaving in a disorderly manner which he denied despite being caught on the act by CCTV cameras and was released on a bond with two sureties of the same amount.
What irritated most Kenyans is that Babu Owino was ordered to pay the 10 million shillings in installments, a call that was obviously demeaning as it was seen as a form of him buying justice.
“The matter was scheduled for 20/3/2020 but was affected by the COVID-19 directions issued by the NCAJ on 16/3/2020 scaling down court operations,” the ODPP writes much to the anger of Kenyans who flow to the post in heavy criticism.
