President Uhuru Kenyatta’s National Address In Summary

President Uhuru kenyatta

Kenyans were eagerly awaiting the Presidential address today, 6th July 2020, hoping President Uhuru would reopen the inter-County movement and he has not failed them.

President Uhuru arrived earlier than had been announced for his Presidential address by one hour, at 1 pm instead of the announced 2 pm.

Barely ten minutes into President Uhuru’s address it was clear that major decisions had been made and ten minutes to the end, it was more clear that the weight of curbing the spread of COVID-19 has been majorly left to Kenyans.

We took the key pointers of the Presidential address and summarize it for you:

The next 21 days patterns of interaction will guide the government’s next cause of action, if there will be a spike in the trend, the country will return to lockdown at zero option.

“Be our brothers and sisters keeper, avoid unnecessary travel upcountry and ensure to
maintain social distancing, washing hands, sanitizing, and be extra-cautious when interacting with the elderly and those with the depressed immune systems,” President Uhuru has said.

The country now risks more infections of COVID-19 and deaths if Kenyans begin mass movement to other counties.
