Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has reduced park entry fees by 50 percent to encourage local tourism at a time when plans are grounded with an exception of cargo affecting the tourism industry.
CS Balala has reduced park fees by 50 percent for Kenyans and all international tourists who are still in the country in a bid to bring back life to the largely affected tourism industry since COVID-19 hit the world.
Previously, Kenyans were required to pay 300 shillings to tour parks but now they will only be required to pay 150 shillings for the same.
CS, who spoke today, 2nd July 2020, has also announced a moratorium for free rent for all lodges in the Kenya Wildlife Parks and also a 50 percent reduction fee for filmmakers who seek to shoot films in the parks.
CS Najib Balala has noted that the new more affordable charges are effective between the 1st of July 2020 to 30th June 2021 and Kenyans and all international tourists in the country should take maximum advantage.
