Messi Doesn’t Have Maradona’s Personality

By Antonney Oduor

Left-footed, Argentinian, small, brown hair and most importantly is the extreme talent. No, I am not talking about Lionel Messi but Diego Maradona. He is often considered the greatest footballer of all time in football history but the internal question is who is stronger Messi or Maradona?

It is impossible to answer this question even if people from Argentina are much more attached to Diego but why? Maradona has an extraordinary personality. He loves his homeland like no other and he has left a lasting mark in his country. Maradona is the type of player who steps up when his team needs him while Messi is more discrete and concentrates on his game. You cant ask Leo to do things he is not capable of; he is more the type to sulk in his room than to gather everyone for a talk. Maradona perfectly represents the spirit of Argentinians’ football. He grew up in a portrayal playing street football and he has never forgotten his roots. He also embodies his patriotism when playing for Argentina.

In 1986 he won the world cup and scored the goal of the century but strangely enough, his hand of god against England delighted his people just as much because it was revenge against the British for the war between Uk and Argentina for the Fork land island. In 1990 he played in the world cup with a twisted ankle. He played with an injury every match. He even lost a turnout during a match but he still continued playing. He represented his people with an incredible passion throughout his entire career. Argentina football fans only have one thing in common, they always start to cry when they watch Maradona’s videos.

Messi might be the most talented player in history but the Argentines don’t feel strongly about him as they do about Diego. Leo has spent his entire career at Fc Barcelona and he has never played in the Argentina championship. Messi doesn’t have Maradona’s personality and he will never be. In the end, Diego became a legend by staying true to himself. And if you love Diego you love him 100%. Napoli fans know what am talking about. This poor kid was able to reach the highest level of football without anybody’s help and became an imperfect legend who changed Argentina forever
