Surge In Covid-19 May Cause 5 Counties Into Lockdown

Kenya

By Clinton Ochieng

The rise in Covid 19 cases has hit a record high in the country. With the number of deaths increasing, the President is expected to introduce more strict measures to control the run-away cases of the virus spreading like wildfire.

President Uhuru is likely to introduce a stop/halt in movement in Nakuru, Kajiado, Nairobi, Kiambu, and Machakos. This is because of the high number of positive cases the counties have recorded in recent times.

As seen, at least 121 Kenyans have been admitted to ICU in various hospitals in Kenya with 35 of the patients in a ventilator support.

Kenya has recorded over 120,000 positive cases since the first Covid-19 case was recorded in March last year. It is worrying that the increasing number of infections possess a huge threat to the well-being of the Nation that had made huge steps in controlling the spread of the deadly virus.

At least 2092 Kenyans have passed away due to the virus with as many as 200 deaths being recorded in the last few weeks because of the new deadlier strain that has hit the country in the second wave.
