A Four-Storey Building Collapses In Kamukunji, Nairobi

A residential building in Nairobi’s Kamukunji area has collapsed.

The building which has four top floors caved into each other according to the photos shared by the witnesses at the time of the incident.

The photos show various floors of the building piled up on each other.

The police have promptly reported the incident but the cause of the collapse is still unknown.

There is fear that there might be casualties who are still inside the building and even those who need to be rescued.

No rescue team has, however, arrived in the incident to save the day.

This is the second time a building is collapsing in the area after a building that was under construction collapsed and killed two street children in November 2016.

Although there are many reasons as to why a building might collapse, most of the incidences in Kenya especially Nairobi is the poor or weak foundations by some developers who want to save money by cutting on concrete and reinforcements.
