Top gainers

The top 5 gainers of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) were Stanbic Holdings, Stanlib Fahari Income – REIT, Sasini, Bamburi Cement, and Carbacid Investments.

Stanbic Holdings gained 3.76 percent at the price of 89.75 shillings per share followed by Stanlib Fahari Income – REIT with 2.65 percent at the price of 6.96 shillings per share. Sasini gained 2.31 percent at the price of 19.95 shillings per share.

Bamburi Cement and Carbacid Investments gained 2.11 and 1.63 percent at the price of 38.80 and 12.45 shillings per share respectively.

Top losers

The top losers of the day were dominated by Olympia Capital, Eaagads, Nairobi Business Ventures, WPP ScanGroup, and the East African Portland Cement.

Olympia Capital lost 8.18 percent at the price of 2.02 shillings per share. Eaagads and Nairobi Business Ventures lost 7.00 and 4.32 percent at the price of 11.30 and 6.20 shillings per share respectively.

WPP ScanGroup and East African Portland Cement lost 4.11 and 3.78 percent at the price of 4.43 and 8.66 shillings per share respectively.

Top movers

The top movers of the day were the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Safaricom PLC, Bamburi Cement, Kenya Re-Insurance, and Standard Chartered Bank.

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya sold 7.80 million shares followed by Safaricom with 3.82 million shares. Bamburi sold 2.42 million shares while Kenya Re and Standard Chartered sold 2.29 million and 738,000 shares respectively.
