As long as you will recognize and avoid these guys, you will always be safe on the Kenyan roads. Better hit another car but nit a pedestrian or a nduthi guy. For a pedestrian, you will be a serious face-off with the law. For a dhuthi guy, your car might even be set ablaze.
Avoid following or competing with matatus
You may have heard that the matatu sector in Kenya is run by madmen sometimes. Well, it is not a joke. The majority of those drivers give no damn about other road users. Give them the right of way and retain your peace, and life.
A traffic cop is not your friend
Just know what the law says. A traffic cop mainly plays with your psychology. Do not shake like a lonely leaf in the desert when they flag you down. As long us your Driving License is up to date and your car meets all the conditions, remain cool.
Pay attention
That car can be your coffin. While driving, pay attention. Do not allow those inside your car to destruct you. If possible, tell them that you are carrying their lives. Avoid your mobile phone. A second of destruction can be the end of your life.
