The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has released a list of items that Kenyans should declare before departing for another country. Of these items, money is not one of them. So, you should relax. You can move out with it. Gold is missing too.
Here are the things you should declare before departing the country:
Cameras and accessories for filming outside the country which you intend to bring back
items exported for repair or alterations
Toolboxes you require for repair work abroad and you intend to bring them back
Jewelry
Sporting equipment
Musical instruments
Any item to be returned to Kenya

At the same time, there are things that one is not allowed to bring into the country. They include:
Illegal drugs
Guns, ammunition, explosives
Knives and hunting weapons
Hazardous materials
Meat and meat products
Plant and plant products
Soil
Counterfeit money and goods
Pornographic material
Single-use plastics

Almost all items brought into the country have to pay Customs Duty. It is a tax imposed on goods brought into Kenya. However various categories of passengers do enjoy concessions and entitlements as provided under the 5th Schedule of the East African Community Customs Management Act.
Customs duty is paid at the port of entry on goods subject to taxation. The imported goods may be liable to Import Duty, Value Added Tax, Excise Duty, and any other applicable levies when the allowable limits are exceeded.
