A 14-year-old boy in Mandera County has died from burn injuries while undergoing treatment at Mandera County Teaching and Referral hospital.
The class seven pupil at Kamor Primary School was lured to their house by his brothers Ibrahim Ahmed and Yusuf Ahmed, before being rolled up in a mattress, doused in petrol and set on fire.
The victim had been accused of being a witness in a case that involved his brother Ibrahim Ahmed stealing a mobile phone.

After setting him on fire, the two brothers immediately went into hiding leaving their little brother for dead.
However, Police officers saw a fire coming from the house and rushed to the scene only to find the poor boy burning.
They rescued him and took him to the hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
His distraught father Abdullah Hassan, who couldn’t come to terms with the loss of his beloved son, shed tears of pain and anguish.
Detectives have, however, arrested the heartless brothers. They are currently being held at Mandera Police station awaiting prosecution.
