Kenyans are set to enjoy lower calling rates following the review of the mobile termination rates (MTRs) and Fixed Termination Rates (FTRs).
According to the Communication Authority of Kenya (CA), the new directive takes effect from January 2022 and all telcos will be expected to adjust the prices.
MTRs and FTRs are charges that operators charge each other to allow customers communicate across networks.
The Authority says the new review will also cut down the need for Kenyans to own multiple SIM cards because the charges will be harmonized.
