Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s wealthiest men, but he refuses to give his 11-year-old son Cristiano Jr. a cellphone.
In 2022, the Manchester United forward will be one of the world’s wealthiest football players. He can also pay himself and his family members whatever he wants. He, on the other hand, refuses to do so.
While speaking at the Al Wasl Plaza in Duba, where he was receiving his Globe Soccer Awards’ Top Scorer of All-Time accolade, Ronaldo stated why he has not given his son a phone.

“IT (technology) really helps a lot. It helps me and the people here, all over the world, and I think we should take advantage of that, but we shouldn’t be obsessed with it,” Ronaldo said.
“For instance, my son always makes a modest impression on me. ‘Daddy, can I have a phone, can I have a phone…every time and every single day’ but I tell him you still have time ahead of you,” Ronaldo added.
He also noted that the current generation is one ahead of its time and, therefore, we should make use of it, but not become obsessed with technology.
“Give them, but only for a limited time; don’t give them all of the time. That, I believe, is the main idea,” he said.
