The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) on Wednesday announced that some parts of the city will go without water for 24 hours starting Thursday, April 14 morning to Friday, April 15.
In a public notice, the company attributed the water supply interruption to the ongoing construction of the Expressway around Uhuru Highway.
“This will facilitate interconnection of the relocated new and old water pipes along Uhuru Highway between Haile Selassie avenue and University Way Road Junctions,” reads part of the notice by NCWSC Managing Director Dr. Nahashon Muguna.
The water disruption will enable the release of the road corridor to the Expressway contractor between Haile Selassie Avenue and University Way junction.

Other areas that will experience water disruptions include the whole of the City Centre, Ngara, Parklands, areas along Limuru Road, Aga-Khan Hospital, the University of Nairobi’s Parklands law Campus, areas along Mombasa Road including South B, South C, and the neighborhoods.
Similarly, the University of Nairobi main campus, Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and EPZ- Athi River will be affected.
Areas along Jogoo Road that will be affected include City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu and the surrounding estates, and the whole industrial area.
The company has urged residents to use water sparingly as they work towards restoring the supply.
