The Total equity turnover dropped by 40.26 percent to close at USD 2.03 million (235.79 million shillings) compared to Wednesday’s turnover of USD 3.40 million (394.70 million shillings).
The NSE 20 and NASI shed 1.17 percent and 1.09 percent to close at 1,733.89 and 143.60 respectively. At the same time, foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 15.27 percent of total market purchases and 34.74 percent of total market sales.
On the Exchange Rate Performance, the Kenyan shilling is still on the receiving end of the US Dollar shedding 0.03 percent to close the day at 116.10 shillings, this being 2.61 percent weaker on a year-to-date basis.
However, the shilling strengthened against both the British Pound and the Euro. Against the Pound, the shilling strengthened 0.06 percent to end the day at 143.66 shillings while against the Euro, the local currency strengthened 0.12 percent to end the day at 122.36 shillings.
