Weekly equity turnover dropped by 33.9 percent w-o-w to close at USD 14.09 MN (1.64 billion shillings). The NSE 20 and NASI fell by 3.8 percent and 5.1 percent w-o-w to close at 1,680.53 and 132.52, respectively.

Foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 31.9% of total market purchases and 67.5% of total market sales.

Fixed Income

Weekly bond turnover declined by 17.2 percent w-o-w to close at USD 118.68 MN (13.81 billion shillings). The FTSE Bond Index gained 0.2 percent w-o-w to close at 94.82.

91-day, 182-day, and the 364-day t-bill yields rose by 8 bps, 11 bps, and 2 bps to close at 7.758, 8.832, and 9.879 percent, respectively.

Macro Metrics

USD|KES: KES weakened by 0.2 percent w-o-w to close at 116.41 (-2.9 percent year-to-date). The FX Reserve: Import cover eased by 1.0 percent w-o-w to close at 4.93 months (-8.5% year-to-date).
