Exchange Rate Performance
The Kenyan shilling weakened 0.05 percent against the US Dollar to close at 118.39 shillings. This is the lowest the Kenyan shilling has ever fallen against the Dollar in history.
At the same time, the local currency weakened 0.80 percent against the British Pound to close at 141.16 shillings. The shilling also weakened 0.71 percent against the Euro to close at 119.61 shillings.
Kenyan Stock Market
Total equity turnover fell by 67.80 percent to close at USD 1.05 MN (KES 124.11 MN) compared to Monday’s turnover of USD 3.26 MN (KES 385.40 MN).
NSE 20 and NASI shed 0.21% and 2.27% to close at 1,671.38 and 135.38 respectively.
Foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 41.73% of total market purchases and 57.24% of total market sales.
